3-Dams at Shelton, CT

Our last letterboxing trip took us to Shelton, CT to the 3 dams located here. We are looking for the 3-Dam letterboxes by Trailhead Tessie. It is quite beautiful here as you can see. Here I am at Pine Lake. Do you see all those trees? Those are tall pine trees.

Here we are on the Bridge to Bridge trail. We only did half of it; a 3 mile round trip. This is among the trees of Pine Lake. Aren't they beautiful? They reach all the way to heaven! You can't see me in this picture, because I'm way up in the trees!!

Do you see that little building in the water? That is the Pine Lake Gate house. It goes all the way down to the bottom of the lake. Can you picture someone going down in that windowless dark place? I don't think I can do that! I like the sunshine too much!

Here we are at the second dam. You can see the Silent Water through the trees.
Happy Penguin, Brawl and I are stamping in the letterbox that we found. Brawl is making a silly face.

Here we are by Pine Lake.
I had a fun time visiting Sally-O and her family in CT.
I will miss them very much!

Hugs,
Pinkie

More of Beautiful Connecticut

Hi again, all the way from Connecticut. Don't you just love the way the sun lights up the forest here. The trees are just begging to be swung on! This is at Reservoir #6, where Sally-O had that run in with that ranger! Luckily, we took the box with us so it wouldn't be lost. We were able to return it to it's owner, who happens to be Rubaduc & Gizz. So it was nice to met them again.

Look at this Tower. This is the Hublein Tower. You have to hike up Talcott Mountain to get here. It was closed when we got here, but the view from on top was breathless.
we were looking for some mystery letterboxes up there. Out of the 4 boxes, we were able to find one of them.

Look at what we found next to the tower! Two little critters!
Happy Penguin wanted to take them home, but we don't have any of it's milkweed food in our yard, so we left them there. I wonder what kind of butterflies they will become. I think one is a Monarch, but what is that little one next to it?
